Seek

Seek boasts over 40,000 vacant job positions posted online. You can search for a job online for free, simply by specifying what type of position you are looking for. The site has two additional areas - Seek Executive, which provides vacancies just for executives; and Seek Campus, which is a tool for students and recent school/university leavers seeking employment; or if you have a bit of spare time you can sign up for some volunteer work. You can also apply for UK positions or prepare for your UK working holiday.

Jobnet

The information technology (IT) and technology fields tend to see people come and go on a fairly frequent basis. Because of that fact, Jobnet was created to provide a job placement resource specifically for those industries. Sign up for free as a member and you will get daily alerts of new vacancies by e-mail, an online resume so employers can seek you out, industry news alerts and more. Permanent, contract and consulting positions are all available.

CareerOne

This is a classified Website collected from a variety of Australian newspapers, such as News Limited, which publishes Sydney’s Daily Telegraph and the Australian, among others. Register for free and then you simply select the field or industry your are interested in, and you’re away. Top news stories from the world of employment are also posted on the site as they break.

JobPoint

There is a classified section on this site, but that is not really Job Point’s strongest feature. Instead, what really makes this site stand out is its strong suite of job search resources: a resume centre for tips and tools, interviews help for creating the right impression, help for interns and a guide for those starting their first job. According to one article posted here, it is possible to plan your ascent up the corporate ladder from day one.

Careers Online

Here’s a thorough resource for job seekers and employers alike, with the emphasis not on actual classifieds, but rather on providing you with the right tools to solve your employment problems. If you’re just starting out, you can find out how to get involved in a career that suits you, and then find out how to prepare a killer application so you will get the job. Some classifieds are posted online, but not that many – however on the plus side, you can browse positions vacant postings form all over the world.
